If you are looking for a fun game to master, Blackjack is the right way to go! To master the game of Blackjack all you will have to do is take some time to do your research and learn some amazing strategies for Blackjack. A lot of the time when players are just playing and making not very smart moves the house edge will rise profusely, the best way to allow yourself the best odds of winning, the first thing you need to know is the differences in the types of hands that can be played like, hard hands, soft hands and of course we can't forget those pairs!
Hard Hands
When your hand doesnít have an ace it is then known as a hard hand. The hand can contain any other two cards just as long as those 2 cards do not make a pair. Below is what you should do with all the different possible hands!
- If you have cards that make a total between 5-8 you will want to hit no matter what card the dealer has.
- If your cards total 9 and the dealer has a card that is either 2, 7, 8, 9, 10 or Ace you will want to hit. If perhaps the dealer has any other card showing you should remember to double down if they let you and if not, hit.
- If the cards in your hands total 10 and the dealer has either an Ace or a 10 showing in their hands you will want to remember to hit. If the dealers card that is facing up is any other card remember to double down if they let you and if not then just hit.
- If you have a total of 11 in your hand and the dealer is holding an Ace then hit, and in some caseís if the dealing is showing any other card then you will want to double down if allowed and if not then just hit.
- If your cards equal 12 and the dealer has either 4-6 showing then just stand where you are and if the dealer is holding any other cards that are showing just hit.
- If your cards combined equal 13 or 14 and the dealer has a 7, 8, 9, 10, or an ace face up then always hit, and if the dealer has any other card showing you will want to stand exactly where you are.
- If you have a total of 15 in your hand and the dealer has either a 7, 8, 9, or ace sitting face up you will then hit and if the dealer has a ten showing you will always want to surrender if that is allowed and if it isnít allowed then just hit! Another thing is if the dealer has any other cards just remember to stand!
- If your cards equal 16 and the dealer has 2-6 you will want to stay where you are! If the dealer is showing a 7 or an 8 you should hit, and if for some reason the dealer does end up showing any other card you will want to surrender! In some cases you are not allowed to surrender, if that happens then just hit!
- If your cards total 17-20 you will want to stand no matter what the dealers face up card is showing.
Soft Hands
Soft hands are the opposite of the hard hands, when your hand does contain an Ace, it is known as a soft hand. Basically the biggest meaning behind this whole thing is that the hands without an Ace in them only have one possibility as the numbers are hard and can not be changed. However, because an Ace can be worth both 1 and 11, if you are holding one, it makes your hand a soft hand as it can change into another total. Below are all of the different things to do with all of the different soft hand possibilities.
- If you have an A, 2 or A, 3 in your hand and the dealer at the table is showing either a 5 or 6 then you should double down and if that isnít a possibility then just hit.
- If you are holding an A, 4 or A, 5 in your hand and your dealer is showing a 4, 5, or 6, you will want to double down and if that is not permitted then just hit, do keep in mind if the dealer is showing any other cards then just hit.
- If you contain an A, 6 in your hand and the dealer has a card between the numbers 3-6 then just double down and as in some cases that is not permitted, then you will want to hit, if the dealer has any other cards showing then you will also want to hit.
- If in your hand you have an A, 7 and the dealer is holding a 3, 4, 5, 6, you will want to double down and if perhaps that isnít permitted then you will want to stand where you are, and if the dealers face up card is either a 2, 7, or an 8 you should stand as well and if the dealer is showing any of the other cards in the hand then you will want to remember to hit.
- If you have an A, 8 or an A, 9 in your hand just stay right where you are no matter what the dealer has showing!
Splitting
When you play the game Blackjack at any casino and you are dealt a pair, you will have the option to split that pair into 2 hands or keep it as 1. It is not good to always split each pair you get, so below is an outline showing which pairs you should split and when.
- If you have a pair of either 2's or 3's, always remember to split if the dealer has a face up card that is between 2 through 7. And if the dealer is showing an 8, 9, 10, or even an Ace you should hit!
- If you have a pair of 4's you will want to always split them if the dealer card is showing a 5 or a 6 and if the card ends up being any of the other cards in the deck then you will want to hit.
- If you have a pair of 5's in your hand then you never ever split them no matter what the circumstances are. If the dealer ends up holding a ten or an Ace you will want to hit and for any other numbers you will want to double down and as in some cases that is not permitted you will just want to hit.
- If you end up having a pair of 6's you will want to only split them if the dealers cards are showing an Ace, 3, 4, 5, or 6 and if the dealer is showing anything else you will want to split!
- If you have a set of 7's then remember you only want to split them up if the dealers card is a number between 2-7 and if the dealers card is showing any of the other numbers you will want to hit.
- If you have a pair of 8's then split no matter what the scenario is on the table.
- If your hand contains a pair of 9's remember that you will want to stand if the dealer is either showing a 7, 10, or an Ace and if the dealer is showing any of the other cards in the deck remember to split the pair.
- If you have a pair of 10's in your hand, you will want to stand no matter what the dealers cards are.
- - If your hand has a pair of aces you will need to always split the pair of Aces and put one Ace into 2 hands regardless of what the dealer has in their hand.
