Duplicate Poker closed its doors on October, 5th 2008. It seems that their new way of playing poker didn’t attract enough players in this rough times of financial crisis worldwide. Duplicate Poker offered a skill based version of poker where two players on two different tables played against each other. All cards on the two tables were the same and the opponents were those on the same seat. You won if you played with more success than your opponent. As this variant was much more based on skill than the original poker, it was legal to play in the United States. But perhaps the amount of luck you need at playing poker is the interesting point poker players wanted.
