The online casino software provider, CryptoLogic, has announced that they have extended the licensing agreement they have with Marvel Entertainment, which allows the use of a number of Marvel’s comic book characters to be used on online slot machines.

Both Marvel and CryptoLogic have benefited from the deal since it was first signed in 2005.  The superhero games have been extremely popular in online casinos that carry the CryptoLogic software, which has in turn increased the popularity of the Marvel comic superheroes.  CryptoLogic has managed to negotiate to have the exclusive right to use the Marvel characters until the year 2013.  This is the third time that the deal has been extended between the two parties.

Simon Philips, the head of global consumer products for Marvel Entertainment, commented about CryptoLogic that “(CryptoLogic) has proven that it is able to translate Marvel’s world-renowned superheroes into hugely successful Internet casino games and we are confident they will continue to fully leverage these properties on a global level.”

CryptoLogic’s President and CEO, Brian Hadfield said “We look forward to working with Marvel to deliver an even more compelling experience for every player, every day.”
