Some of biggest prizes in the entire history of the UK Lottery were paid out in 2009 and a further 130 people became brand new millionaires as a result of the Lottery.

Seven lucky IT workers from Liverpool as well as a couple from south Wales each won a 45.5 million GBP share of the Euromillions jackpot this November and the more than 130 millionaires created in the past year brought the total of millionaires created since the game was launched in 1994 to 2,350.

The organizer of the UK Lottery, Camelot, reported that there were approximately 4 million winners a week across its National Lottery games.

With so many people becoming instant millionaires it is very important for them to get advice on financial planning so that the winners’ children and grandchildren can also benefit from their wealth. This is possible with correct management of the funds.

According to a director of a Westhill-based financial planner, the key to successful financial planning depends on managing current and desired lifestyle expectations and it is the job of a financial planner to ascertain the status of a client’s finances at a particular time and to establish whether or not the client’s desired lifestyle expectations are possible. He also reported that what is right for one person is not always right for another and they therefore always provide advice that is tailored to the individual.

Camelot also reported that while the majority of the 4 million weekly lottery wins do not reach seven figures everyone who has a little extra cash should learn how to manage it well.
