Lucky Nurse Hits Bingo Jackpot
Jan 18, 2010
The New Year has started off on the right foot for an unnamed 39 year old nurse from Hucknall, who wishes to remain anonymous. This lucky nurse was the winner of £62,500 and she won it in a game of bingo!
She won the high 5 jackpot on January 8 when she was playing at the Gala Bingo Club located in Top Valley.
The high 5 jackpot was worth an impressive £125,000. However, the game rules specify that half of the jackpot gets divided up between the other players who are playing in the game. This means that the remaining £62,500 got evenly distributed to the other 88 players and each went home that night with £710.22.
The anonymous nurse has been playing bingo for 15 years now. She said: ‚ÄúThis has made my New Year! It still hasn’t sunk in.‚Äù
The nice thing about the High Five game is that it offers players not only more prize money, but also more chances to win. A player will win if “house” is called on a number five, or any number which ends in the number five.
When asked how he felt about the nurses win, Kevin Plowman who is the operations manager at Gala Bingo, said: ‚ÄúShe has been coming to the club for many years and we were all so excited for her when she shouted ‘house’‚Äù.
Now that the nurse has won this money, she will be able to attend a family wedding that she may have otherwise had to miss out on.
