Alabama Illegal Gambling Raid Foiled

Alabama attempted to take a stance against illegal gambling last Friday night. Hundreds of officers stood ready to take part in a raid against two huge bingo operations in the state.

However, the raid came to a halt when lawyers were able to block the seizure slot machines. There were thousands of the electric bingo slot machines which were the target.
The developments shut down right before dawn broke and the police prepared for the raid. But, the anti gambling task force’s planned raid came to a halt.

At 5:30 in the morning a judge issued an order which blocked any raid at the location until a hearing could be set for the following week.

This bingo center has more than 6.000 machines, it reopened as soon as all of the troopers left, as well as all of the vehicles which were there to take away the machines.

The troopers were already in position and ready to go in when they were unable to obtain a valid warrant for entry. This put a damper on the entire raid and it was cut off.

“We’ve told them they are trespassing. We’ve told them to leave,” said one of the centers spokesmen, Jay Walker.

It was just before noon when the troopers left and they went to a highway rest stop in order to regroup.

The anti gambling task force is in the process of trying to get the order which allowed the block lifted and trying to have a new judge appointed.
