It appears as if the gambling world can’t seem to get a break from the amount of thieves targeting it lately. There have been yet more thefts which have targeted the gambling industry.

Seven men appeared before the Oxford Crown court today that have been charged with conspiracy to steal. These charges are in connection with raids on fruit machines which took place at service stations.

The charges are related to the amount of £43,000 which was stolen out of about 50 different gambling machines which had been placed throughout the country.

Some of these machines had been located in Oxfordshire. Six of the accused are from Hampshire while the other is from Lincolnshire.

The suspects who denied the charges against them will stand trial in September, 2010. The other suspects who have pled guilty will be sentenced separately.

This is just one of many crimes taking place surrounding gambling recently. There has also been a high profile poker tournament which was held up and robbed by gunpoint. Another casino also got robbed at gunpoint in which there were a few shots fired.

Although no one has been seriously injured in any of the robberies, it shows that gambling establishments need to consider tightening up their security in an effort to stop these types of robberies from taking place.

The gambling industry should look at these recent robberies and make it a point to act accordingly in order to protect themselves against such acts in the future.
