Mansion Poker and Casino.com Raise funds for Haiti

Many people from all walks of life are coming together to help the people of Haiti following the horrific and devastating Earthquake which has caused so much damage.

Mansion Poker, an online poker room has decided to get involved and organize an event which will help to raise money to go toward helping Haiti.

The online poker site has partnered up with Casino.com and will be hosting an online poker tournament as a charity event. This event will take place on January 31st and all of the profits will be donated to the Red Cross.

One more exciting thing about this event is that both Mansion Poker and Casino.com will be matching all of the donations.

This tournament is schedules for 6:00pm GMT and it will feature a 10 dollar buy-in.

The ten top finishers of the tournament will all win cash and the top winner will win 1,000 dollars. After the top ten finishers are paid, the remaining money will be donated to go toward the cause.

There will be an area where those that want to donate cash can do so, it will be on the site and allows for people to make donations from one dollar all the way up to 500 dollars. Mansion Poker will also be matching the donations which are made in the lobbies.

For any players that wish to donate on the site, the donation areas will be located in a series of eight Holding Tank lobbies and you will find the donation process is simple.

Over $1.5 Million Donated for Haiti Relief by Online Poker Community

Former Senator Alfonse D‚ÄôAmato, Chairman of the Poke Players Alliance (PPA), the leading poker grassroots advocacy group with more than a million members, applauded Poker Stars, Cake Poker and Full Tilt Poker for providing an easy way for poker players all over the world to make contributions towards relief efforts in Haiti after the devastating earthquake.

Special pages were set up on the various sites to enable players to make donations easily to the Haiti relief efforts and players on all three sites are able to transfer funds quickly and easily direct from their online accounts on those sites to a Haiti Fund. Poker Stars, Cake Poker as well as Full Tilt Poker have promised to match each donation made, dollar for dollar.

To date there has been over $760,000 donated by more than 50,000 players resulting in donations by the online poker community exceeding an amount $1.5 million in view of the dollar for dollar match.

D‚ÄôAmato, added that he is proud to be part of the community after seeing the generosity that the online poker players are showing towards the devastation in Haiti.

Cake Poker and Full Tilt are offering online tournaments and will be donating all registration fees to the Red Cross, UNICEF or Doctors Without Borders.

Another leading online poker room, Titan Poker, is hosting a $10 buy-in event on January 31st and will be donating all proceeds to Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. They will match the total amount of buy-ins made at this event. A little bit different is the donation offer of Pacific Poker. They host four different freeroll tournaments and donate $1 for each player that registers for one of these tournament.

Haiti is in need of a lot of help, and the world is taking notice. This includes poker players. The Poker Players Alliance acknowledged poker players for the generosity that they have recently shown when it comes to giving Haiti a helping hand.

The poker community has taken a look at the situation in Haiti and decided to do something about it. PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Cake Poker have found a way to make it simple for poker players to help Haiti.

Each of these online poker sites have set up pages on the sites where a poker player can go and make a donation toward the relief efforts taking place in Haiti.

When a poker player goes to this donation page, they can easily transfer funds directly out of their account into the Haiti relief fund.

So far, more than 50,000 poker players have already made donations to the relief fund. The amount of cash donated is in excess of 760,000 already. This is an astounding amount that will go toward getting Haiti the help that they are in much need of.

Another very generous thing these three sites is doing, is they are matching the player donations dollar for dollar. This means that the amount of donations and the match already come to over a half a million dollars.
