There have been rumors of the supposed PartyGaming – bwin merger for quite a while now, with the first drift emerging sometime this summer. However, the possibility of the deal actually crystallizing seemed to materialize only recently, when newspapers like the London Sunday Times first printed news about the possibility of the merger.

When you consider the fact that bwin has a strong presence in online sportsbetting, a merger between the two organizations seems to make perfect business sense. However, a Reuters report on Monday indicated that it might yet be early days to talk of a possible merger between the two outfits.

Speaking to Reuters, a spokesperson from bwin said, “We are always talking to everyone, because we believe that there will be more consolidation in the sector. (But) we are not in any advanced talks, including with PartyGaming.” There has been no word of confirmation or denial so far from PartyGaming.
