HORSE

H.O.R.S.E is a form of poker which combines five different variation of the game all in to one, the game switches from variation to variation at set times meaning players need to be well versed in all forms of poker to play the game well.

Horse stands for Holdem, Omaha hi lo, Razz, Seven card Stud and Stud Eight or Better, five games all played with a fixed limit betting structure. If you’re playing on cash tables the game switches in the above order each time the dealer button makes a full rotation of the table, in horse poker tournaments the game changes at set times as the blinds increase.

So at a horse poker table you are basically playing 5 variations of poker one after another of fixed limit betting, this adds excitement to the game and keeps it helps keep it feeling fresh, it is a game often referred to as a true test of all round poker ability and not for the faint hearted.
