POT LIMIT OMAHA HI
Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo (short for high & low) is a very fast paced game to play and can generate substantial pots because of the many number of drawing possibilities. The standard Omaha rules apply to Omaha Hi-Lo with the exception that the pot may be split between a player winning the hi hand and a player holding a qualifying lowest hand.
A low hand must include a high card "8 or better" to qualify to be the lowest hand. So to be eligible to win the low, the highest card you are using must be an eight or lower. If tied with the high card, the hand is awarded to the player with the next lowest high card. Any hand that is high card nine or higher cannot qualify as a lo hand. In Omaha high Low the same player can also win both pots for the Hi and Lo hand if there is no qualifying lo hand. The straight ace to five is the best possible low hand and the straight 4 to 8 being the worse possible qualifying low hand. The ace is used as a high & low card in the Omaha Hi Lo. Straights and flushes are not considered when evaluating a low hand.
Pot Limit Omaha Betting: the smallest amount any player can raise must equal or be greater than the previous bet or raise within the same betting round. The maximum a player may bet is equal the amount in the pot including his call before making the raise.
Betting Example: a player's call is $5 and the pot is $20, a player may raise to a maximum of $50. Their call of $5 brings the pot to $25 and he may raise the amount equal to the pot of $25, therefore the raise is $25.
