5 CARD STUD HI / LO
As with standard 5 card stud play begins with all players being dealt 2 cards the first hole card being face down and the second face up for all to see, a betting round follows and then the next card it dealt as always in a clockwise direction to all remaining players. More betting before we get dealt our 4th card again this is dealt face up now giving us all one card face down and three cards exposed. Another round of betting ensues where players can choose to check call, raise or fold. The player always first to act is the players showing the highest value cards face up.
The fifth and final card is dealt face down and betting continues, as the remaining players choose to call, fold, raise and re-raise. Once the show down comes the highest 5 card poker hand wins half of the pot for the HI aspect of the game. The Lo is won by the best possible 3 card low hand Ace-2-3 being the lowest. We are led to believe that the low hand must contain only wheel cards which mean ace-2-3-4-5 can be used to make the low.
This game of 5 card stud Hi Lo is not a popular one and if found online you should double check the qualifying criteria for the Lo hand.
