7 CARD STUD
7 Card Stud is a game made up of streets, after the initial deal which involves 2 hole cards and one face up card being dealt to all players betting begins. An ante is most commonly used before the cards are dealt ensuring there is always something to win from the very beginning.
After the initial 3 cards are dealt the player with the lowest value card exposed has to “bring in” this can either be a nominal amount or the amount of the full small bet, which ever the player in question chooses. The players to follow always act in a clockwise direction and can raise, call or fold which bring us neatly on to 4th street where the 4th card is dealt again face up. From now until the end of the hand the player whose hand is of the highest value in poker terms is the first to act, betting carries on and the same process is carried out on 5th and 6th streets where again those cards are dealt face up one street at a time followed by betting rounds.
On the seventh and final card being dealt to all players yet another betting round is carried out which leads us to the show down, the winner is the player with the highest 5 card poker hand made up from the 7 cards he or she has been dealt.
