NO LIMIT TEXAS HOLD'EM
No Limit Texas Hold’em is played according to the usual rules of Texas Hold'em. What is particular about this variant, is the fact that a player whose turn it is to bet, is allowed to bring in his complete stake. Even in the first betting round. This possibility increases the power of players to a great deal, because it allows them to put enormous pressure on other players. But this is only the case if that stack that has been brought in is high enough and poses a real threat to the other players. And when does the stack that has been brought in pose a threat? Simply put, in any case where the call) of another player puts him at risk of loosing a lot of money or, in a poker tournament, to loose a great deal of his stack or even to have to leave the tournament. Therefore, this is a very good method to intimidate the other players and possibly steal Blinds. Stealing, yes, because one doesn't even have to have a card that makes winning probable. But if you actually don't have a good card for winning and another player has already raised his bet, then you are advised not to use this method of pressure, because it is very likely that the other player has a winning card in his hand. This possibility for All-in is often used preflop (in the betting round before which the first community cards are revealed), in order to press players who have very strong cards out of the pot - that is, force them to give up their actual hand. Simply with the goal to make it impossible for other players to play with unlikely hands like Flushes and Straights or hands with very low value like three of a kind and multiple pairs, just by getting the cards out of their hands. A good poker player with a bad hand will avoid this risk and get out of the actual hand. This can not be said of lesser players, which makes the method a little bit unpredictable in such cases.
In any case, when you have a strong hand and use this method, bluffing is very hard to discover (assuming that you don't show any signs in your behaviour). Be aware that a bluff can also be called with a strong hand and that you run an increasing risk for this to happen the more bluffs you play. Especially because the other players will start to recognize your bluffs and increasingly will call instead of being intimidated. This is because strong hands that justify a high raise don't happen that often.
